Prof. Jiten Vora is a highly skilled and globally connected senior clinician and academic in cardio-renal-metabolic endocrine arena, with broad pharma experience. He has been Chief Medical Advisor for Cardiovascular and Metabolic Diseases at AstraZeneca from 2015 to 2019.

 

Jiten  is a  Consultant Physician/ Professor, and has been Director of Innovation, at the Liverpool University Hospitals and the University of Liverpool, UK. He qualified from the University of Cambridge, before completing substantive training in diabetes and endocrinology at the University of Wales College of Medicine. He was also a Fulbright Senior Fellow at Oregon Health Sciences University, Portland, USA.

 

Professor Vora has research interests in the development, screening, and treatment of diabetic retinopathy, in renal hemodynamics and hypertension in Type 2 diabetes, in the prevention of renal diseases in diabetes, in the physiological aspects of treatment of Type 2 diabetes, and in mechanisms of osteoporosis.

 

He has more than 250 peer-reviewed publications on the field of diabetes and co-authored several textbooks concerning the management of diabetes.
